Skydiving instructors free flying in Croatia

What is tandem skydiving?

Tandem skydiving is a type of skydiving where a student skydiver is connected to a harness attached to a certified tandem instructor. Tandem instructor guides the student through the jump sequence from exit through free fall, canopy piloting and finally landing. Tandem skydiving is considered to be the safest way to experience thrill of skydiving.

Please keep in mind not to do scuba diving 24 hours before your skydiving jump. Official guidelines is to wait AT LEAST 12 hours after a one single no decompression dive and 24 hours after repetitive decompression included scuba diving.

Are you allowed to eat and drink before tandem jump?

Before the jump, eat normal but light meals, and the best to drink is water. After the jump, you can eat and drink what ever you like!!!  No alcohol or drugs in your system minimum 24 hours before making a tandem skydive.

What is the minimum age?

You must be at least 14 years of age, please come with a valid ID. Tandem jumpers under 18 years of age must be accompanied by parents/legal guardians and get their written consent at the spot.

Can I jump with my friends?

Yes! Sharing the experience with your friends and family is fantastic. Our plane can carry up to three tandem passengers with tandem instructors in one load, depending on the weight of the passengers.

What do I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing and athletic shoes (NO open toed shoes). On warm sunny days you may choose to jump in shorts and a t-shirt. On cooler days jeans and a long sleeved shirt or sweatshirt may be appropriate. No bare feet or sandals are allowed. For your skydive, you will be wearing a special jumpsuit over your clothes.  Remove all jewellery and loose objects.

Can I wear glasses or contact lenses during my jump?

Yes. Let your instructor know you will be wearing glasses or contacts and they will ensure you have the appropriate goggles to cover your eye wear.

What will the skydive feel like?

The sensation of free fall is more like flying than falling, and the parachute flight is quiet and inspiring.

How will I feel when the parachute opens?

You will definitely know something is happening, but few people have complained about any discomfort.

How long does the skydive last?

Our Cessna 206 Soloy turbine aircraft climbs to exit altitude of 13,000 feet which means your freefall will last approximately one minute and the parachute flight will be from 4 to 5 minutes.

Is it okay to tip my tandem instructor?

While it is not expected, your tandem instructor will appreciate your expressions of gratitude.

Isn’t the landing like jumping off a 2 story building?

No! If that were the case, there would be no skydiving because everyone would have broken legs! In the early days of sport parachuting, landings were sometimes quite hard. The new ram-air parachutes of today allow landings that feel equivalent to hopping off a step 1-2 feet high.

Will I be scared?

Maybe, and maybe not. You will definitely feel a surge of excitement and anticipation before the jump – this is a normal part of the experience. During the jump itself, you’ll probably feel a thrill such as you’ve never experienced – enjoy it!

What kind of parachute will we use?

The parachutes used are specifically designed, large “ram-airs”. A ram-air is a high technology “square” parachute, as opposed to the old style round parachutes.

May I bring my dog?

Unfortunately, no. We love dogs too, but for many reasons dogs are not allowed on the airport or drop zone at any time. Please remind your spectator friends.

I am a little overweight, is that a problem?

Most people who have an active lifestyle can go skydiving. There is a weight limit of 220 lbs (100 kg) to make a solo or tandem skydive. Please contact us directly if you have any questions regarding weight requirements.

Can I get pictures of my skydive?

Yes! Edited videos of your skydive is downloadable in HD quality, and your still pics we will send to your email address. You can expect about 10 still pics from takeoff  till landing. Having a snap shots from a full HD video images allows you the freedom of enlargements and having multiple copies made for a variety of applications, including greeting cards and calendars.

Should I give advance warning if I want video and pictures?

Yes! The more advance warning the better.

What type of video can I expect?

Video edit gives you about 4-5 minutes of footage, edited with music. We expect to film you at various times from when you start your preparation to after your landing. Footage may include climbing into the aircraft, takeoff, the climb to altitude, exit, under canopy and landing.

How long before I receive my edited video?

You will get still images and the link do download your video on your email adress. Because of the amount of time we put into the production of the video, we will email it to you within a two days.

Can I take my own camera with me?

No. You are too busy with your skydive to look after your cameras. It may very easily get lost or broken and we can not risk dropping it in freefall or under parachute.

Can the skydiving cameraman film more than one person?

No. The instructor and camera flyer are dedicated to you, which means that they will be exiting the airplane and skydiving with you and your instructor filming your entire jump. Due to the amount of time and the distance between each exit, the camera flyer can only film one student in freefall. We can take a ground shot or two of your group, if you let us know at the time of your jump.

What if the weather forecast is bad?

Neither we, nor the weatherman, are 100% accurate at predicting the weather – even here in Croatia! Please show up for your scheduled appointment, and a decision can be made at that time. If for some reason we need to cancel, we’ll give you a call, or send you an cancelation email.
